Haig Club Festive Old Fashioned

The Old Fashioned has a history dating back to the 19th century. It was given its name in the 1880’s. The Haig Club Festive Old Fashioned is a very simple twist on the classic Old Fashioned recipe. The gingerbread syrup adds a lovely festive sweetness to a simple and classic whisky serve.
Ingredients
- 50ml Haig Club
- 1 teaspoon of Gingerbread syrup
- 2 dashes of orange bitters
- 1 piece of orange peel to garnish
- Alcohol content: 16 grams
Equipment
- Mixing Glass
- Strainer
- Rocks Glass
- Jigger/measure
- Peeler
How to
Stir the Haig Club, the gingerbread syrup and the bitters together with large ice cubes in a mixing glass for a full minute, until the drink is well chilled and has diluted down
Add a couple of large ice cubes to a rocks glass and strain the mix into this
Twist the orange peel above the glass to spray the oils across the top of the drink and drop in the peel to garnish
